Police: Muncie man stabs cat in front of children
Updated: March 12, 2008 11:04 AM CDT
According The Muncie Star Press, the children, who live with their grandparents, were visiting their father last month when this happened. Muncie police say animal shelter workers retrieved a dead cat from the trash at the suspect's home.
The children, ages 7 and 11, told police their dad had passed out after drinking. He woke up and told the children he would show them "how to kill." The children say their father tried to get them to stab the family cat. The father allegedly killed the cat and threw it in an outdoor trash bin.
Police haven't been able to contact the suspect who now faces charges of animal cruelty and child neglect.
