Posts: 4545 Dec 8, 2007 08:03:44 Critter Companion	What a cutie pie!! I had one as a child, his name was Bingo and he was full of mischief. Mom finally put her foot down after he at the linoleum in the kitchen...most of it....and sent him to live on a farm where he had the life of royalty!! He was spoiled rotten by his new owners....a cooked breakfast each morning, his own chair near the fireplace, and tons of love. I have a real soft spot in my heart for beagles!!

A friend of mine has two beagles who eat all manner of linen, doggy beds, etc. Also, heard a funny story from a shelter director in upstate New York - where he was, beagles are what the shelter is full of (the equivalant of our pit bulls) because of the hunters who come up each year and go home after losing their dogs. He said "You're probably all wishing YOUR shelters were full of beagles (as opposed to pits and rotties) too, right? Well, it's not as wonderful a problem as you might think. Beagles howl. One of them starts and then the whole dog ward is howling at the top of their lungs and there's no way to get them to stop!". Happily, they have an awesome placement rate
