We rescued the little orphaned kitty about 3 weeks ago and my 12 year old Kashmir is still acting so funny. Do they EVER at least cohabitate together okay? The kitty is in the big cat carrier most of the time and Kashmir has the run of the house. (the little one is too little anyway, we'd lose her) Kashmir is is one angry girl, she is eating just little bits and hides on me. She always was a hider when people she didn't know would come over etc.... But I'm hearing horror stories...

Took them to the vet last week, on Wednesday, and boy are they growing.... Ty was 36 lbs and Tucker was 34 lbs 6 oz. - they both have Demodex Mange (not contagious) so they go every Wednes. to be weighed, to make sure their med dose doesnt need to be adjusted. The week before that they were both 34 lbs .... the meds can make them not hungry, which was evident by Tucker since he didnt gain much. I cant wait to see how much they weigh this week

It's been awhile (years actually). I know have 6 cats and 1 dog. My others have gone on to the Rainbow Bridge. I'm hoping to retire to florida in a year on so, but waiting for the economy to get better. So I'm still in Virginia. I used to be on the site all the time and remember Sniksnak-HI!

My sister has come for a three week visit and arrived yesterday. My 2 yo male cat was fine at first but when I called him and his sister for lunch today he wouldn't come out...which is very unusual for him, he is usually first to the bowl.

I am having a problem with my Kashmir - she is an 11 year old cat and she is soooooo upset that Sadie is in our home now. She has always been a sort of anti social cat! Sadie is in her cat carrier except for feeding and playtime. Kashmir won't come out of the bedroom and when we showed her Sadie she hissed at her but looked afraid. I got this information about feeding Sadie - I believe she is about 4 weeks old now. This is what I was told:

At this age she needs Purina kitten Chow all day and all night, and 3 cans of soft food (fancy feast) a day...morning, noon and night. You can also put a bowl of kitten milk in front of her to supplement. They eat a ton.

Does this sound right to anyone? Seems like an awful lot of food....

Sadie is about 4 weeks old now - I am seeing very different amounts to feed her. Today she did eat canned food with her formula mixed in from a plate. Some say 1 oz. 3 or 4 times a day - others say she should be getting fed 5 - 7 times a day!!! She'd eat all the time if I let her!! I don't want her to go hungry but I don't want to stuff her either. She is PRECIOUS!!!!!

Yesterday, my 8yr old cat Sammy was diagnosed with mesenteric lymphosarcoma. This came over a month of vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite, and a 2.5 lbs weight loss. We had been on and off prednisone for a month combined with pain medication before the vet gave us this diagnosis.

The ultrasound shows several large masses inside his stomach and intestines. His liver and kidney levels and appearance suggest the beginnings of failure. His pancreas is also showing signs of wear.

Our little one is thriving and doing so well. Her little eyes turn to look at us when we walk in the room or talk to her. She is eating solid and still from the bottle. Has been pooping and peeing. BUT we saw a flea on her today!! I know she is too little for most flea stuff, but we have to get rid of them - fleas could be devastating on this little thing! Anyone have suggestions?
